Laura Jen Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, in New Orleans to a family of physicians. Her father’s ancestor, John Witherspoon, was the sixth president of the Princeton Academy and was one of those who signed the Declaration of Independence. As a child, Reese sought to imitate her parents in everything and therefore dreamed of becoming a doctor.

The story is about when the break in the desire of this little neat girl happened. We only know that she first appeared on the screen at the age of seven. True, this was just a commercial, but for her, it was a good start! And four years later, Reese Witherspoon reaped the laurels at the state’s Young Talent Competition. What Reese was like during her school years can be said in three words: an athlete, a Komsomol member, and just a beauty! As the captain of the fan team, a regular participant in school theater productions, doing rhythmic gymnastics, Reese Witherspoon also managed to study well. In addition, all this time she also forged a model, for which she received an honestly earned fee of $ 50 a day.

At the age of fourteen, Reese and her friend went to rehearsals, and she was so liked by director Robert Mulligan that he immediately and unconditionally took her to one of the roles in the film “Man on the Moon.” He was soon followed by major roles in the films “Jack Bear” and “Captive of the Sands”. However, they did not bring glory to Reese. In 1994, after graduating from college, Reese entered Stanford University to study English literature but was soon forced to drop out of filming. However, the films in which she starred were not very successful with the general public. But it didn’t bother her much.

At the very beginning of her acting career, she set a high bar: with the ideals of Holly Hunter, Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Francis McDormand. She wanted each new role to bring with it something new, each time different. So Reese Witherspoon easily turned down offers to star in such films as “Scream”, “I know what you did last summer”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Urban Legends”.

Recognition came to Reese after the role of Jennifer in the comedy “Pleasantville”, where her partner was Toby Maguire. The following year, the film “Brutal Games”, where she starred with her boyfriend Ryan Philip, this film was a real breakthrough for her. After the release of this picture, no one could challenge the stellar status of Reese.

Reese and Ryan were married in June 1999, and in September they became the happy parents of the charming Ava Elizabeth. Reese and Ryan rarely went to noisy parties and rarely invited guests, preferring to enjoy each other’s company and their baby. For a long time, their marriage was the strongest, almost perfect, in Hollywood.

Being by nature very obligatory and scrupulous, Reese wanted to become the best mother and wife and even thought about giving up her acting career and graduating from Stanford. However, you will not run away from the talent. Especially if hunters are watching him at every turn. So it was with Reese. Sometime after the birth of Ava, the actress has already starred in the series “Friends”, and then in small roles in the films “American Psychopath” and “Nikki, the Devil – Jr.”

In 2001, the film “Blonde in Law” was released, after which Reese woke up truly famous. The role of the blonde-intellectual, which destroys stereotypes and at the same time confirms them, best reflects the essence of the character of Reese herself. It was a great success, dramatically increasing the shares of the actress in Hollywood. Next was the role in the films: “Stylish thing”, “How important to be serious” and “Vanity Fair”. Reese became one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood, and her fees reached about $ 15 million. A little later, Reese Witherspoon won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her starring role in Crossing the Border.

Unlike Reese, the career of her husband – Ryan Phillippe – is difficult to call successful. And while they were still the happiest couple in Hollywood, they weren’t really happy: Ryan had a drug problem and often got drunk. Therefore, despite the appearance of a second child – Deacon Phillip and all attempts to save the marriage, they divorced.

Now, Reese Witherspoon easily rivals Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts in popularity, owns her own studio “Type a Films”, and continues to act actively, choosing only the most interesting scripts and bright roles. Thank God she can afford it.
